How you put your voodoo louder to +15dB. Mine goes only to +6dB. (S2 stock rom)
I think it could be because you are using the stock ROM. I'd like to help you if you gave me more details.

I don't know, it just worked... I would lile to help you, but I actually no more have the S2, I couldn't really tell what's really going on, you could try making a nandroid backup, installing CM and see what happens.
